NOTICE OF TRIP CANCELLATION:

SANTA'S LIGHTS TOUR,
Saturday, December 7th & 14th.

The Metro Employees Historic Vehicle Association - MEHVA is a non-profit, tax exempt all volunteer group dedicated to the preservation of Seattle and King County's transit heritage through the restoration and operation of vintage transit vehicles as a working, living museum demonstrating the importance of public transportation in the region. Membership is open to anyone interested.

For the past thirty-five years the Metro Employees Historic Vehicle Association-MEHVA has sponsored excursions and special trips using the King County Metro Transit Historic Fleet of historic trolley and motor buses.

In October the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office without prior discussion advised MEHVA that they had reinterpreted our operating agreement and determined that our operation of the Historic Fleet was not covered under Metro's self-insurance. This led to the cancelation of the Fall Foliage excursion on very short notice. The MEHVA Board of Directors has reached out to Metro's senior management team to help resolve this situation. Unfortunately, since this situation has not yet been resolved the upcoming SANTA'S LIGHTS TOUR public excursion on Saturday, December 7 and the SANTA'S LIGHTS TOUR for Metro employees on Saturday, December 14 will be cancelled.

We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment that this may have caused.
